My thoughts about the novel code talker so far are that the white men in the story believe that the Navajo language is useless and all that they need to know is English and they need to look and act like they are white.

My thoughts after reading some more of code talker are he is very determined to get into the marines so that he can prove his teachers wrong when they thought that Navajo people didn't matter. Ned also thinks that because he has excelled in school that he can be a big asset to the marines so that also fuels his determination. Although Ned was so determined he doesn't fit in with the environment of boot camp I mean a small and scrawny kid who is running and climbing and learning how to swim in such a short time does not work out very well. I am wondering if he will do well in the marines because he doesn't really fit the profile. Who knows he could surprise us all and he smarts could benefit him greatly.

My thoughts after reading chapters 11-15 are that the work that they were doing was so hard for anybody that was not Navajo because it was such a complex and confusing language for any white man. I also learned some interesting things about Ned he is very upbeat and ready to go to war. He is also constantly practicing with his bayonet. I wonder if he will do really well or if he will freeze in the moment or if he will do very well in the war.

My final thoughts after finishing Code talker is that Ned came through and did very well in the war. He was very happy when the war ended yet he did not now what to do with himself once he wasn't needed anymore. He was glad that he got to show the white men that the Navajos had a reason to be here. I wonder why he didn't try to be a person in the marines academy for boot camp and teach them tricks about how you can survive in the wild. He could teach them the tricks with the prickly pear and other things. Those are my thoughts after finishing Code Talker.
